“Holy jumpin’ tuna fish!” — you’re going to want to bookmark this one.
We went live to share something big, beautiful, and wildly hopeful: a Christmas Movement from Equine Connection that puts horses and human hearts front and center. Whether you own horses, dream of working with them, or simply feel calmer the moment you see one — this is for you.
Below is the essence of our conversation, turned into a clear, story-driven guide you can read, share, and act on today.
First, the Heart of It All
We believe horses are partners, not tools. In our Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) certification, the welfare of the horse isn’t an add-on — it’s the foundation. Programs are on the ground (no riding required), built on equine language (not forcing a human model onto a horse), and delivered with a clear structure so learning actually transfers from the arena to life.
“We work with horses — we don’t ‘use’ them.”
Every program has a beginning, a middle (arena time), and an end that ties lessons back to real life. Clients leave with new awareness, practical skills, and a steadier inner compass — the kind of change you feel in your bones.
Why a “Movement,” Not Just a Promo
Because our industry needs it — and because purpose matters.
During the live, we talked about the decline in horse participation across North America and how fewer young people are coming into the horse world. That’s more than a stat; it’s a wake-up call. If you’ve ever wondered “Was my horse meant for more? Was I?” — this movement is a doorway.
We’re inviting people who love horses to step into meaningful, horse-first work that helps humans heal, grow, and reconnect — work that gives your horse a role worthy of their heart.
The Christmas Movement: What You Can Receive
From November 15 to December 15, we’ll be gifting $2,000 CAD credits toward our EAL Certification with Business Training & Support (Thoroughbred or Clydesdale package). One to two recipients will be announced each day.
Why “2,000”? For us, two hearts — horse and human — and the circles of transformation we create together. It’s symbolic and practical. And yes, USD friends benefit from the exchange rate.
How to enter:
Share your story — your purpose with your horse, why now, and how you’ll serve humans together. Be real. Be specific. We’re not looking for perfect; we’re looking for honest.
Who can enter:
- Anyone 18+ worldwide who wants to do horse-first, people-changing work
- Not for those already enrolled/in-training for this certification
- Current facilitators: you can encourage a partner/family member to apply
How winners are announced:
We’ll go live daily starting November 15 to announce recipients (and we’ll email you too). Come celebrate with us!
Hashtag it with us: #HolyJumpinTunaFish and #LifeChangers — because joy is contagious.
What the Certification Actually Includes
- Online Equine-Assisted Facilitation Theory (self-paced, engaging, classroom-style)
- Three-day In-Person Training at select locations — come once or return anytime to refresh
- Instant Business Pack (17 years of tools, templates, programs, marketing assets, pricing, contracts, and more — so you don’t start from scratch)
- Practice Tutorial Videos to sharpen your facilitator eye
- Horse Welfare & Language modules (partnering vs. pushing)
- Lifelong community and support — you won’t do this alone
- Proud collaborations aligned with welfare-forward education (e.g., University of Guelph’s Horse Owner’s resources)
This isn’t a “download and good luck.” It’s a built system with the training, curriculum, and business backbone to help you launch and sustain real impact.
A Note of Respect: Remembrance Day
We won’t begin announcements until after Remembrance Day. Gratitude first. Always.
A Live-Only Bonus: Rescued Hearts Documentary
We’re hosting the filmmakers for an in-person event in Strathmore, Alberta on Sunday, November 23 (matinee) with a screening and Q&A. This is not an online stream. It’s for horse people and non-horse people alike — anyone who needs to see what healing with horses can look like beyond four walls.
“Sometimes a horse is the only safe space in someone’s life.”
Bring tissues. Bring a friend who needs hope.
What This Work Feels Like
It’s the steady breath in the barn when the world is loud.
It’s presence over performance.
It’s watching a guarded human soften beside a horse and whisper, “I didn’t know I was worth that much.”
It’s purpose for the older gelding, the sensitive mare, the mini with a giant heart.
It’s two hearts remembering why we’re here.
“Even when it looks like nothing’s happening — everything is happening.”
How to Step In
- Write your story: Why you + your horse, why now, who you’ll serve.
- Submit between Nov 15–Dec 15 (11:59 p.m. MT) — one complete entry per person.
- Join our lives starting Nov 15 for announcements (and check your email!).
- If selected, choose your package (Thoroughbred or Clydesdale) and let’s get to work.
Final Word (and a Nudge)
Life is short. Horses are honest. People are hurting.
If your horse is “neighing from the barn” — this is your sign.
Two hearts. One purpose. Let’s move.
PS: If you’ve got questions about the certification, packages, travel, payment options, or the Instant Business Pack, send them over. We’re here and happy to help — earrings in and clean shirts on for big days like this.
